In this video I’ll teach you how to discuss neuroplasticity with clarity and confidence (even if you’re not a neuroscientist).
It turns out you CAN teach an old brain new tricks. But it takes more than simply waving a neuroplasticity wand and saying “Rewire my brain!”
Firstly, why is it important to be able to discuss the brain with your clients?
Much of what I teach is based on the principles of psychoeducation. The rationale behind a psychoeducational approach is to give clients and patients a clear and simple understanding of how their brain works.
Psychoeducation has proven to play a role in emotional and behavioural change. If you get it right, your clients/patients/students will experience
- more positive emotions and behaviours
- an enhanced sense of self-efficacy and emotional wellbeing.
- self-knowledge about their individual strengths
- resilience and coping skills
- they’ll be more relaxed and better equipped to deal with their problem(s).
This mini lesson forms the core of what I teach during week two of The Neuroscience Academy during the module ‘Wire’.
Think of it as a sneak peek inside the Neuroscience Academy.
